From straight ahead blues to ripping funk to R&B, The Soul Shakers Rhythm Section has backed up some of the best in Northeastern Pennsylvania. They've been nominated three years running for the Steamtown Music Awards Blues Act of the Year.  For three years The Soul Shakers Rhythm Section also hosted the annual "Winter Blues Guitarmageddon" shows at The Scranton Cultural Center at The Masonic Temple and produced two CDs from those shows.

What started as a collaboration in the New Orleans Funk Band Mojomo, drummer Sharon O'Connell, bassist Bill Coleman and, occasionally, keyboardist Eric Brody have meshed their individual styles into one of the best rhythm sections in the Northeast. Individually and together, The Soul Shakers have recorded and/or performed with numerous artists in New Jersey, Colorado, Louisiana, Tennessee, Kentucky and New York. They've performed with national and regional guitar icons including Grammy nominee Slam Allen, Clarence Spady, Teddy Young, Peter Florance, Phyllis Hopkins, Dustin Douglas, Matt Bennick, Jesse Mower and, as the rhythm section for the Joe Kopicki Band and others.
